This whimsical winery sign was actually purchased for the customers home. It was intended as a gift for a family member who made wine as a hobby. The sign is not large but its impact is. Fine design and fine craftsmanship combined create a sign that is both durable and charming. The main sign panel is built from a panel of High Density Urethane (HDU), laminated to a backing of PVC for added stability. HDU is a carvable wood substitute that withstands the elements better than any wood. A sign made from HDU retains the warmth and authenticity of a wooden sign but will never deteriorate like a wood sign tends to do. The funky text and decorative grooves on this winery sign were carved by hand into the sign face, sanded smooth and then gilded with genuine 23-karat gold leaf. Our artists designed the frog at the request of the customer who wanted a pictorial of a frog kicking back and enjoying a glass of red wine. Accomplished sculptors used the original drawing of the frog as a model for this appealing sculpture, which was carved in relief from a piece of HDU and mounted onto the sign face.
