Restful to the eye, the color green has traditionally been used to symbolize nature and its attributes, namely those of life, fertility, and rebirth. The tree, animals, text and groove were gilded in 23-karat real gold leafing, while the hill behind the tree was finished in palladium leaf, which is silver in color.
