We own hundreds of fonts, and can usually acquire the fonts we dont have. The design process always leaves room to include the customers ideas so you can get exactly what youre looking for. For a classy, upscale look we can create textured sign letters and letters gilded with genuine 23-karat gold leaf.

Made by experienced craftsmen from the finest materials, building sign letters from Spring Valley Signs are designed to last a lifetime. Our preferred material for wall-mounted letters is HDU (High Density Urethane). HDU is a carvable and sculptable composite that closely simulates wood but does not deteriorate under rough weather conditions the way wood does. Generally our letters are cut from a piece of HDU laminated to rigid PVC for added stability. For finishing we offer a 23-karat gold leaf overlay, or a painted finish. The paint we use is Sherwin Williams exterior latex, which has a 25-year warranty. We have about thirty standard colors on hand based on our customers favorites over the years, and well do any custom Sherwin Williams color for a nominal fee.

Technique is everything. Some of our architectural sign letters have elaborate finishes and some are plain and serviceable. Our process for creating custom sign letters varies according to the customers preferences. A 3D hand sculpted letter can be mounted onto a PVC backing of a similar shape only larger, to create an accentuating border. We used this process for sign letters purchased by the Villagio Primavera Resort. For a glittering effect, our artisans have developed a technique called chip carving. When crafting a chip carved sign letter, the sculptor uses a specially curved “sweep" chisel to create an even surface of dish-shaped gouge marks. The sign letter with this surface can then be either gilded with 23-karat gold leaf or painted with exterior latex paints like these Tarsius sign letters. For plainer sign letters, the letters are cut out then rounded with a chisel and either hand-sanded smooth and gilded like La Majesté or purposely left with a rough natural finish. Square-cut sign letters like our Faun sign letters are another option.

Due to location variables we cant provide sign hanging services. However we do produce a standard aluminum hanging system as well as wrought iron hangers for conventional signs. For interior wall mounted sign letters we can provide a long-lasting double stick tape.
